The European Commission adopted on 7 September 2007 a Communication on "e-Skills for the 21st Century: Fostering Competitiveness, Growth and Jobs", presenting a long term e-skills agenda and including five major action lines at EU level (2008-2010).The Competitiveness Council of Ministers subsequently adopted Conclusions on a long term e-skills strategy on 22-23 November 2007.

- Cedefop forecast of skills supply, released in June 2009. It provides data on participation in the labour market and education achievement up to 2020 by broad categories (high qualification, medium qualification, low qualification).

- The Agora conference which took place last June discussed Cedefop work, but also many other relevant subjects for NSNJ: papers and videos are available on the website.

- The studies on skills needs in 18 sectors (including the iCt sector), using qualitative methods (focus group, interviews with experts of the sectors) have been released this summer:
